Hawaiian Co-Generation Plant

Located in a remote part of the big island of Hawaii, Coast Machinery Movers with limited resources and facilities completed the erection of a 60-mega watt co-generation plant for Jones/Burns and MacDonnell. Coast provided labor, materials, equipment and supervision to erect and assemble the core of the plant equipment including General Electric LM2500 combustion turbines, Aalborg Industries Heat Recovery Steam Generators, Mitsubishi Steam Turbine/Generator, Alstom Power Surface Condenser and all associated ancillary equipment.

A lack of available equipment required Coast Machinery Movers to bring a Manitowoc 4100 to the island and it was used as the main project crane.

Coast Machinery Movers engineered the erection of the 250,000 lb. HRBS Boiler Units. Coast’s 500 Ton Gantry System was used as a tailing system to upright the units.

In spite of difficult and logistic challenges for equipment and a tight budget, Coast Machinery Movers completed the project within the 6 month required schedule.
